Think of your most dramatic emotion right now...now pretend it is your friend's emotion. Look at it from an objective point of view. What do you see? Observe it. Let it be. Don't argue with it...you can't help your feelings, those are reactions. But what you CAN do is choose to, after you've felt and accepted it, move it to the "mental" section of your brain. This section is the one that will allow you to say, "OH, yes, that was a strong emotion! Now I want to watch American Idol."
